Repost from The Hill

House Republicans on Monday (March 6, 2017) unveiled their long-awaited bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare.  The measure dismantles the core aspects of ObamaCare, including its subsidies to help people buy coverage, its expansion of Medicaid, its taxes and its mandates for people to have insurance.  In its place, Republicans would put in place a new system centered on a tax credit to help people buy insurance.

SYMPOSIUM UPDATE

The Central Kentucky Association of Health Underwriters (CKAHU) continues to monitor the coronavirus situation.

After much consideration, and Governor Beshear and Mayor Gordon declaring a state of emergency in Kentucky and Lexington, the CKAHU Board has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Symposium.

The Symposium will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at the same place and time.

Please note: several individuals have inquired about registering the day of the event at the door; We will reopen registration at a later date. Thank you for understanding.

The NAHU Healthcare Happy Hour provides an in-depth review of the most recent trends in the health insurance industry as well as any actions being taken by Congress and the Trump Administration. The podcast is posted every Friday on iTunes, Spotify, and Stitcher. If people like what they hear, they can share the podcast with friends and clients.

The podcast is a great way for people to acquire deeper insight into the important issues of the day, and NAHU wants to make sure that the episodes are being listened to on a regular basis. For this reason, NAHU is creating a special campaign to increase the number of subscribers to the podcast. A video email will be going out soon asking YOU to subscribe to the podcast along with an easy method to do so. It will also ask you to let NAHU know you have subscribed, tell them which service you subscribed to and what chapter you are a  member of. When you do this, NAHU will enter you in a drawing for a $250 American Express gift card.

Now, here is the extra benefit for our chapter—NAHU will be tracking how many people subscribe from each chapter and the top three chapters will receive a $250 gift card. Please help us promote this campaign, which will last until the end of the year.

Not getting emails from CKAHU?

In December, CKAHU began using a new event management system and we have found many are not receiving our emails. We have found that some of our emails are being rated high in terms of a “spam score” and are being blocked at the organization level – never making their way to your email or even your spam filter. If you are not receiving event information, please ask your organization’s IT department to White List our emails. The emails are coming from [email protected] via StarChapter.

For more information, your IT department may go to: http://kb.starchapter.com/Tips__White_Listing_Email. By White Listing our emails, you are giving permission for mail to be delivered regardless of the spam score. As a note, StarChapter does closely monitor ratings and rankings and are globally considered a safe sender with no negative marks.
